How Carmién Private Label Works
Our private label service helps you develop a custom rooibos product, guided by our expert team from tea selection to final packaging. Choose from Rooibos, Green Rooibos, Honeybush, or Buchu, in organic or conventional formats. Use one of our blends or create your own. Select your cut, flavour, and pack type. We offer pillow teabags, PLA, or Bioweb pyramid teabags, envelope packs and retail cartons. All are plastic-free and eco-friendly. Our factory is certified by BRCGS, Rainforest Alliance, and Fairtrade standards. We ensure full traceability, food safety, and consistent quality at every stage.
Concept Phase
In the concept phase, you tell us about the ideal taste, flavour, and use of the end product. Based on that, we help you choose the base tisane, and the ingredients needed to create that flavour and make it visually appealing.
Estimate Quotes
We send you an initial quote based on your selected ingredients, tea cut, packaging, and any technical requirements.
Product Development and Samples
Our team develops a small batch of your blend to meet our quality standards. We send you samples so you can taste and fine-tune the product. At this stage, you also submit your packaging design. We provide dieline templates and guidance, and help ensure your packaging aligns with the product and market.
Final Quote
Once you approve the blend and packaging, we provide a final quote for full production and delivery.
Procurement
Once you approve the quote and send your purchase order, we source any additional raw materials and place orders for your selected packaging. All components are managed through our trusted supplier network to ensure quality and consistency.
Production
We produce your custom blend following strict quality processes, including sifting, blending, contaminant removal, pasteurisation, and testing.
Delivery
Once production and packing are complete, our logistics team organises delivery to make sure your product arrives on time and in perfect condition.

Yes, we offer Green Rooibos in various cuts and grades.
Both red and green rooibos come from the same plant, but rooibos (red bush) goes through a fermentation (oxidation) process which turns the green leaves to a reddish brown colour and develops its distinctive aroma. Green Rooibos tea has a slightly sweet, mild green (grassy) taste, with caramel notes and a smooth, enjoyable mouthfeel and flavour profile, while fermented (red) rooibos has a delicate balance of sweetness on the nose, slight astringency and full, smooth mouthfeel with a fruity caramel taste, amber cup infusion and typical sweet aroma.
Yes, we sell Honeybush and Green Honeybush raw and packed material.
Rooibos is made from the leaves of the Aspalathus linearis plant, while Honeybush is made from the leaves of the Cyclopia intermedia plant. Rooibos leaves have a needle-like appearance and produce a deep red liquor when steeped. Honeybush leaves are shorter and thicker and produce a red-gold infusion when steeped. In terms of flavour, Honeybush is sweeter and fuller-bodied than Rooibos, with earthy undertones, while Rooibos has a profile flavour marked by notes of caramel, wood and nuts.
